You cannot delete an Apple account. Why do you want to delete it? Why not just stop using the one you don't want to use anymore? Just rememeber, purchases are forever tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with, so if you have Apps under the first ID, you probably want to go into that ID under Manage your Apple ID, and change the password to the same password you have on your current ID.
That way, when you are asked for a password to update apps going forward, it won't matter which ID is asking for the password, because it will be the same.
