If so, yes, it's standard UNIX file cache usage and as such the less memory that is "free" on your system, the better and faster things run.

Really, modern operating systems should run with most memory used and should reclaim memory from cache usage as needed.

Sorry, but no. My system is servicing page faults all the time being effectivelly useless because of your cache. I see it as a way to steal memory and make you buy more of it.
