My iCloud account worked just fine until today. Now, the password is rejected by the mail.me.com IMAP server. Nothing has changed on my end. I am on a Mac with OS X 10.6.8. Using iCloud online is fine. Anyone else having this problem right now? I already tried deleting the account and setting it back up again.

The server address is Imap.mail.me.com, and SMTP.mail.me.com for the outgoing mail.

After deleting my current iCloud account and creating a new one, I used the settings that you described (found in the help section of iCloud online), but it didn't solve my password problem. Thanks for your help anyway. Sounds like the server might be down.
Having the same trouble as well. I'm also in Canada. It's working on my other devices (including Mail), but not Thunderbird.
And it's back online!
