I purchased an SSD for my up-and-running 2004 PB, precisely this model

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251351648687?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m149 7.l2649

and it is not detected by the system. It seems I have to revert to my old HDD, which should be replaced anyway, seems to get old. Any idea if there is a trick here? how can I make the old PB detect the SDD?

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9), MB alu late 2008; 12 in PB at 1.33;
