Are you talking about a book you created with the iBooks Author app? If so, you will have to recreate the book in .epub format. The Apple app for that is Pages.

I don't know whether the iBookstore on an iphone can see that or not, but .ibooks format can only be downloaded and read on an iPad or a Mac running OS 10.9.

There are many ways to create .epub format, do an app store or google search on that term if you want to use something other than Pages.

Copy/paste is the only way.

You could also Export from iBooks Author to pdf format and then try using some app or online converter to convert from pdf to epub. But the result may be very messy.
