Transferring pictures not on camera roll to Macbook Pro…HELP!

Hello everyone,

A year ago or so my harddrive on my Macbook Pro unmounted and I lost everything. Well before that happened I had uploaded thousands of pictures to my Ipad 2 and so those are pictures not on the camera roll but in I guess a different kind of 'gallery'. Also, I am not very computer savy so I apologize if this answer is simple. But my problem is that I want to be able to take all of the pictures off of my Ipad 2 and get them back onto the Macbook but when I hook the sync cable up and Iphoto opens it only gives me the option to sync the camera roll gallery. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone!

You cannot import synced photos back to the Mac. Only camera roll photos will import. There are third part WiFi transfer apps that will allow you to transfer photos from any album on the iPad back to the Mac. There are a number of these apps in the App Store. I use this one.

Hi Demo,

Thanks for the quick reply. I recall using an app a year or so back called Photo Transfer App that will let me upload to my Dropbox account. I guess I can use that. Totally forgot about it. Thanks for the help!
