Q: Proper technique for SL re-insallation?
Hi all. iMac 21" i3 3.06 ghz, 8 gig RAM, 10.6.8
This machine's always been flaky, and I just want to get rid of the current admin/user structure, re-install 10.6.8, and then return all the data from the main user to the newly-formatted system drive.
I'm ready to go...have the current system backed up, have my SL install DVD at the ready. But it's been a while since I did this...
As I mentioned, the new system drive will have but one user, who will also be the Admin. Is there a way to somehow restore apps, data, etc, from the (former) main user on the backup...or am I looking at re-installing all apps and then looking for and copying data?
Haven't done anything yet (except for completing a SuperDuper backup of the current system drive), can you point me in the right direction? Thanks...
