Can iOS 6 calendar appearance be restored?

Calendar (month) view in iOS 6.1.3 showed days events for current day "stacked" below the month calendar.

Now in iOS 7.0.4 "update" (ha), I can't see them stacked one above the other because it focuses on showing all hours regardless of whether or not any events in intervening hours. So now I have to scroll to see days events when in month view.

This is worse than iOS 6.

Also, in "Contacts" the individual contact's data was much easier to read in iOS 6 due to the extra gray shading between info data blocks. Now in iOS 7 it is much More difficult to see contact info data now in iOS7

Is there a way to customize back to iOS views in calendar and contacts and text messages? How?

I liked Apple mail, contact, messages screens as easier to read in iOS 6 but now the supposed "simplified" look of iOS 7 makes me think I should consider Droid next phone. Next software update (to iOS 7.2?) needs to provide return to some 6.1.3 readability!
