the little number in the corner of my message app is not showing anymore

The little number is not showing in the corner of my message app when I receive new messages.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), iOS 5.0.1

Hi! I tried this and the badge app icon is on. I switched it off and on again then turned off my phone several times but the number still isnt showing.

Go to Settings>Notification Center>Messages and see that you have Badges activated.

Go to Settings>Notification Center> Messages> and make sure the "Badge App Icon" is switched on.

If you are using an Exchange account and the mail is going into any mailbox but the InBox, you won't see a badge.
