Choosing a midi keyboard for garage band

Hi All,
I am buying my daughter a keyboard and would like to ensure that when she gets her new Mac taht it will work. I am looking at the Yamaha YPT200 or the Casio CTK-800
If anyone has some experience with these and can offer feedback that would be appreciated.
She is looking at an Imac or Laptop as hardware and will be OSx of course

I think the M-Audio Keystation 49e is the best keyboard value out there. Most of the regulars on these forums use this very keyboard.

At the most, it's $99 US, but I've seen it for as little as $89 (or was it $79?).

Here's the link for the M-Audio Keystation 49e 49-Note USB MIDI Controller Keyboard for exactly $89. Oh, and it's Plug and Play, no drivers, no AC power, just plug it into a Mac's USB port.

(And needless to say, I am another happy 49e owner)

Was there a particular reason you were looking at those two keyboards?

I agree... we use it in our production room for our audio classes and it works flawlessly. We were able to get it for $69, but that was a one-day sale. It's worth the regular $99 tag.
