Q: iTunes new update

I saw that others have had issues with the new update, but upon trying some of the suggested solutions, my problem still persists.

At first, I was missing the msvcr80.dll so I re-installed by googling it. Then when running the actual program, at the very end, right before it finished installing iTunes, it told me to verify that I had the proper permissions to run it. I'm an admin on my comp. I ran as an admin. What else do you want from me iTunes?

Is anyone else having this problem?

Apple TV

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)

Remove all of these items in the following order:

iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

I tried the restore, but it seems to have messed up iTunes even more and even my computer. But I agree, the Apple update is causing a lot of problems.

Details? No, but applications like iTunes make use of existing libraries of common code. Something has gone wrong with the way that iTunes accesses that library, perhaps because it is expecting to use a different version of the library which didn't get updated during the install. Whatever the precise cause of the upset the standard troubleshooting approach is to remove all components of the software and any shared libraries, then reinstall. The installer should include the correct version of any shared component and correct the problem.

Okay, so it look like iTunes is okay now!
I did what tt2 suggested, and it seemed to work for me at least. Crossing my fingers it won't be screwed up when I turn on the computer tomorrow.

To everyone else whose problem isn't solved after this, I wish you the best of luck.

Did not solve my problem now get a message _NSConcreteStackBlock. Very discouraging.

Try the slightly more detailed steps listed at HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. Alternatively see if system restore will work for you. It has for some.

Well, thank you ever so much. The old (86) folder needed cleaning out. I did and it loaded perfectly, nothing lost but a few hours. Very Happy here.
