Will AppleCare Plus replace a lost Lightning cable?

No, it does not cover lost or stolen.

Apple offers different lengths - 1 m, 2 m, and .5 m.

Apple's lightning cable is compatible with all lightning capable devices.

if they did then some guy somewhere would be loosing the cable everyday and selling them down the street

in some cases insurance would cover but not extended warranty

Does anyone know exactly what the cables are covered for? Mine is barely tangling by the very inner cables, and I tried to get it replaced, and they guy said apple care plus does not cover them, he said, technically it does, but that I'd have to pay the 79.00 fee, for. Cable! So then what exactly does the care plays plan cover when it comes to cables and headphones.?.

That guy is full of baloney - first off, a new cable is only $19, you'd be better off doing that, and secondly, $79 is for a replacement device, not an accessory. Accessories are indeed covered by the device's warranty.

All package contents are included with the warranty (iPhone, power adaptor, cable, and earbuds) which is a limited manufacturer's warranty covering manufacturing defects or failures during the warranty period. All package contents are covered for the same with the AppleCare Plus warranty which extends the standard one year warranty by an additional year along with including some partial insurance with a deductible for the iPhone limited to two claims during the two year period.

The $79 fee is the deductible for when the iPhone is exchanged for accidental damage not covered under the warranty, not for the cable. If the cable damage is determined to be caused by accidental damage or abuse, there will be no exchange under warranty.

The apple store tech... When I went to get it replaced. He said they could replace it under warranty for 79.00, or I could by a new one for cheaper. ALL of my family and company phone cables that are from the original 5 new design have fallen apart (about 10 iPhone 5 phones ) it definitely is a warranty item these things do not last two years.

He is wrong. The cable alone costs less than that.

I use 3-4 cables daily with two iPhones - two at home, one in my vehicle, and one at my office and no problem with any of them.
