itunes involuntarily changes lowercase to uppercase

Question

itunes involuntarily changes lowercase to uppercase

so, i prefer lowercase when it comes to genre. i have changed all of the genres to lowercase. however, when i click on a tune which is in the genre jazz, for example, when the tune starts playing iTunes automatically changes it to Jazz.

i think this only occurs with predefined genres within iTunes and it has something to do with the fact that itunes seems to group items that have the exact spellings but possibly different cases.

is there a way to prevent this reverting back to uppercase?

Have you made a new genre to see if it this is true?
Just open a song and type in a new genre. Does it get changed to Title case?

i was being vague basically because i have only checked a few of my original genres, and yes none of them change.

The there is not difference between "Jazz" and "jazz" to iTunes.
I can see they would do this to keep things from getting confusing.
You could do a new genre of "jazz - mine" or something.

right, that's what i meant by itunes associating identical spellings with possibly different cases. it does this with albums and artists as well.

the other day my whole genre actually changed from jazz -> Jazz rather than only the tracks themselves. so then i changed it back and it hasn't changed since. i am wondering if more than half of the genre changes to Jazz then the listing under genre also changes since the majority are Jazz rather than jazz. just speculation.

i guess i was hoping that there is a way to suppress this capitalization, as it is annoying when you are actually typing in the genre in lowercase and iTunes forces it to be capitalized.

wondering if maybe there is a way to change this.

uggg. i love itunes 7 it's amazing. my prayers have been nearly answered as i have ******* about the lack of gapless playback on the discussions it's near perfect (though not quite perfect).

but now this is killing me. no matter what i do, if i try to make the genres lowercase, the predefined ones NOW won't even changed to lowercase. this is ridiculous. why would apple make uppercase the ONLY way to do it?

does anyone have ANY trix up their sleaves? i just like lowercase.

well i have decided simply to make a new genre for each of the predefined genres, basically the lowercase genre with space at the end of it. it just seems silly that you cannot keep the identical spelling minus the uppercase.
