Pages '09 plist editing

Since upgrading to Pages 5, all of my auto-correct entries were moved and Pages 4.3 has reverted back to the dozen or so that were there as a default. Rather than re-enter them all back in one-by-one, I have tried to copy-and-paste them into the Pages plist file in my Preferences folder.

Any edits that I make on com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist with a simple text editor (I use TextWrangler) is met with Pages 4 rewriting the thing upon the next launch of the application. Ironically, if I add an entry from the Pages app, it remembers it just fine, even when I edit it externally later. It remembers the edits that Pages makes, but not changes any external text editor makes.

Where does Pages 4 save a copy of the plist file?

Can anyone offer some insight?
