Q: I have a MacBook Pro 15" laptop with Retina running OSX 10.8.5. It will not recognize that my android device (Samsung Galaxy Note3). I am using the standard USB that came out of the box to connect my device to my MAC. Deleted Kies 4 MAC. Help Pls!

You need to contact Samsung for support since it's their phone and software you're having problems with.

The problem is the galaxy note 3 uses a 3.0 USB cable. MacBook's only have 2.0 USB ports. You need to use a 2.0 USB cable with your note 3 for your laptop to read it.

Same issue on the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

I can use a USB 2.0 cable, but the USB 3.0 cable will not recognize the tablet.
