Q: after adding my new email account I am getting a pop that says a copy has been placed in the outbox . The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying

Does anybody out there ever had a simlar issue ?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4, similar issue with ipad

    If you search the forum, you will see a number of these. It has to do with your SMTP server, which handles the sending of mail. Your SMTP server is not authenticating your account and so it will not send. Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and select the account in question. Look under Outgoing Mail Server and click on the SMTP server. From there, you should see the Primary Server. Tap on that, and check the settings. Make sure your username and password are entered and correct, also, if SSL is off, try turning it on. If you cannot get it working, then delete the account, check with your email provider for all of the correct settings, and add the account back, being careful to spell username and password settings correctly.
