Metronome recording on top of guitar riff (with iRig).

Hi there,

I am using iRig with Garageband on my Ipad Mini. Unfortunately, the audio output to the headphones seems to be mixing with the audio input signal so that I end up with the metronome, and any other previously recorded sounds such as bass lines etc, recording on top of the guitar part I'm playing. This results in the metronome and the bass line being recorded on top of the riff I have just played in.

This is not due to the ipad mic or an external mic picking up the signal and recording it, I'm sure of that. This is somehow a mix up with the iRig or Garageband.

If anyone has come across this or has any suggestions I would be very grateful.
