Thanks so much for posting the fix. I followed your instructions and it worked.

I'm afraid it didn't work for me - regardless of what I tried, I simply could not get iTunes to upgrade cleanly. Also, the missing mscvr80.dll affects any other program that uses the C++ run-time library, so further attempts are just too risky.

I'm going to stick with 11.1.3 and hope that the next upgrade doesn't cause these kinds of problems.

As long as you've got a working iTunes I don't blame you. As for the "missing" dll my system has plenty of copies of several versions in multiple locations. It may well be that some other configuration issue is the cause of that warning.

I thought of that at the time, but a full system scan revealed no other copies.

My count is 26!
