Feb 1, 2014 4:38 AM in response to Autojunkieby turingtest2,Thanks, See b noir's post Standalone Apple Application Support install. Unpack the setup file and try to install AppleMobileDeviceSupport64. Even if it fails it might provide useful feedback.
I'm not sure about the 64-bit installer, but the 32-bit one includes a Vista-only iCloud component. You may need to go to iCloud Control Panel to redownload that if you use it.

Feb 1, 2014 4:53 AM in response to turingtest2by Autojunkie,Gets to the end and then tells me there was an error so it didn't install. I checked the proram list and it wasn't there. At this point I think I migght try removing iTunes and then see if the mobile support will install and if it does the re install itunes. Any thoughts on that path?
Thanks

Feb 1, 2014 4:57 AM in response to Autojunkieby turingtest2,Sounds like a good idea. Tear it all out and delete the recommended folders if they are still there, then install one component at a time. I think it might be best to start with Apple Application Support as I think other components need it.

Feb 1, 2014 5:26 AM in response to Miztee7by Autojunkie,I deleted all filees, folders etc.
I tried loading Apple Mobil and it failed. So then I reloaded the files in reverse order starting with Bonjour. When I got to mobile and tried it, it failed. Then completed loading and iTunes loaded. Again tried Mobile and it failed. I checked programs and it is not there. For some reason I am having a conflict with Mobile and it will not load. Doesn't give you any detailed error message, just that it wasn't able to load.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Feb 1, 2014 5:45 AM in response to Autojunkieby turingtest2,Move the installers (or at least AMDS64) to the root of the C:\ drive. Copy and paste this command into the run box or a command window.
msiexec /i C:\AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi /l*v C:\Log_AMDS64.txtThe resulting log file may indicate the error.

Feb 1, 2014 6:08 AM in response to Miztee7by Autojunkie,I get an error message opening installation log file. Verify that log file exists and is writable. Even tried manually creating log file and received same message

Feb 1, 2014 6:26 AM in response to Autojunkieby turingtest2,Bah, probably some permissions issue I haven't thought about with writing to the root of the C: drive. I've also assumed C is the system drive which it might not be... You could perhaps make a C:\Logs folder, then edit the line accordingly.

Feb 1, 2014 6:33 AM in response to Miztee7by Autojunkie,C is the root drive. Tried modification to Logs but same error occurs.
tt2 thanks for the effort. I have to stop on this now and head to airport to pick up my better half. I will get back into this later. Do appreciate your efforts and will keep posting especially if a solution appears as others may have same problem. Issue may be that I was able to delete the Mobile Device file in an earlier attempt where others could not and this may have affected something that just hasn't jumped out yet.

Feb 1, 2014 6:38 AM in response to Autojunkieby turingtest2,No worries, I'll try and replicate the command on a Win 8/64 system when I can. The other thought might be to disable UAC if you haven't done so already.

Feb 2, 2014 5:24 PM in response to Miztee7by Autojunkie,tt2
Tried changing UAC which didn't help. Called Apple and spent time with an expert there working through with no success. Now I am contacting Microsoft to see what in windows may be causing the issue. Will let you and this forum know what ever finally resolves the issue in case someone else has the same problem.
Thanks for the assist.

Feb 3, 2014 6:16 PM in response to Miztee7by Autojunkie,tt2,
I was able to create an AMDS.log file. Unfortunately I am not sure what path it will lead down. It does show where the program does a rollback. Is there an easy way to send to you or should I just do a cut and paste?
Thanks
