Text/ imessage/ unread texts issues

I'm having some serious issues with my imessage/ texting. After going through all the steps nothing has worked. I've turned my imessage on/off, reset network settings, power reset it, turned it off and pulled the SIM card out, deleted all my messages, turned off LTE on/off, typed in the phone number of contacts instead of selecting their name, tried different emails for imessage, and nothing has helped. My job requires a efficient cell phone that needs to be reached and it a instant manner. Any advice would truly be appreciated. Thanks.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

On top of that it says I have 45 new text messages and I've deleted every conversation? At times the message that I've just read pops back up as unread

iMessage and SMS are two different types of messages, so it is unusual to see problems with both, usually one or the other. What are you doing when you say "power reset"? That is not an Apple term, so I am curious. Have you tried the next steps of user troubleshooting, restore from backup, and if necessary restore as new? Have you contacted your carrier about SMS problems? SMS is a carrier feature. If the restore as new does not solve the issue, and contacting your carrier does not resolve your SMS issue, then you can make an appointment at the Genius Bar or your Authorized Apple Service Center to have the device hardware checked.

In all of the above you didn't indicate exactly what your issue is.

Start by answering a few basic quesitons:

-Country/carrier used

- What happens if you send a message to anyone?

- Do you own any other Apple devices using the same Apple ID for iMessage?

- Have you deactivated iMessage and tried to send a text to yourself to see that SMS is working?

Let's get back to the basics, and we'll figure out what's wrong.

When sending a message there usually is a delay when sending. Also I'm shocked when it says it's sent. Most of the time says failed delivery. People are telling me that they are sending messages but I'm not receiving them.

Yes I own a Ipad

I'll try to turn off the imessage on my phone. Turn on the imessage on my ipad and send it.

Deactivate iMessage on both your iPhone and iPad.

Activate it on your iPhone first.

Test iMessage. Does it work? If yes, activate iPad. If no, come back and tell us.

Hi, i am having this problem on my Mac Pro, Yosemite, on my iMessages app there are constantly 1-2 messages that are saying they are unread however i am certain that all messages have been read. So on my Dock the iMessages app is just always showing notifications showing i have unread messages, very annoying. Can this be fixed at all? Thanks
