Jan 28, 2014 3:35 AM in response to turingtest2by r2d2antics,Hello turingtest2, i have uninstalled everything associated with itunes as you have recommended, though when it comes to deleting the Apple folder from Common Files, i keep being told i need permission, but have no idea how to achieve that.
So far, trying to reinstall itunes is a bust

Jan 28, 2014 5:19 AM in response to turingtest2by profsnap,I have tried uninstalling itunes but it seemed to take a very long time (over 2 hours) so I cancelled. It does say on the Apple instructions that it will take a sginificant amount of time - but is over 2 hours unreasonable?

You might have success if you try moving on to the next step in the removal process. Or it might help to try running this Microsoft Fixit and then start over.

Jan 28, 2014 5:31 AM in response to turingtest2by Rick Eby,The step I missed was to remove from the c drive Program Files/ common files/ Apple folder. You must delete this folder as well. Thankyou for your help. Apple get your act together!

Jan 28, 2014 8:42 AM in response to turingtest2by r2d2antics,Thank you for all your help. looks like you have been kept busy today!
Going into safe mode helped. However, at this moment in time i still have no itunes, when i click to download it all i get is a page thanking me for downloading.
I tried the Microsoft fix you suggested to someone else, that repaired somthing or other. But i give up for today.
I did also get Error 7(1114) yesterday so i will have to look into that.
Once again, thank you for your assistance

Jan 28, 2014 8:49 AM in response to r2d2anticsby turingtest2,The repair may have left iTunes thinking it is a brand new install so it displays the welcome messages. Visiting the store and going back might fix that. Otherwise see Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.
