Feb 6, 2014 8:57 PM in response to turingtest2by LMHamm,Hello! You seem to be quite the expert, so maybe you can answer my question. I just bought a new iPhone and traded in my old one in-store. When I got home to transfer my backed up data onto my new phone, I was greeted with that runtime error. If I follow the steps that you've posted for removing and reinstalling iTunes, will all of my backed up data be lost? Thanks!

Feb 12, 2014 7:41 AM in response to Kimmi83by jchapman3,Me too! I've been having this error @ windows boot, and at various other times with other apps...i've been going Crazy trying to figure out what i installed or uninstalled that stripped that library... iTunes was not even on my radar.
Uninstalled all per instructions...reinstalled, launched iTunes (all settings et al returned as they were) ... and no more C++ runtime errors from other apps.
Thank you very much for your time to post the solution.

Feb 15, 2014 8:54 AM in response to turingtest2by sophieb24,Hi
I've got the same problem as the original poster and am also concerned about losing my libbrary. I don't think I've backed it up and don't know how to do this - would you mind telling me how to back it up / save it somewhere?
Thanks very much for your help,
Sophie

Feb 24, 2014 5:04 AM in response to turingtest2by JerOmyB,I have followed all the steps and finally got everything removed, I try to reinstall last night and got error ("Apple Application Support was not found" Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again." Error 2 (Windows error 2)" ) I then went through the uninstall process again which happened to be only iTunes and none of the other supporting programs. After download and install, I got the same error as above along with "Apple Application Support was not found" Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again." Error 2") so now I have those two errors. Could you point me in a direction that I could try next please?

Feb 24, 2014 5:53 AM in response to JerOmyBby turingtest2,If you've been through the second box in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates and it still won't reinstall cleanly then download and install 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and use one of them to extract the contents of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe installer file, then try installing AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. Even if it won't install you may get a more useful error message as to why not.
