Unauthorized purchase dispute

I find it interesting, that when I submit a discrepancy on a charge made to iTunes, I am told to speak to people in my household to see if they, or if my young children accessed this. I am a single person. No one, except me, knows what my password is.

My son, 29, does not live at home and his 21 month old son doesn't know my password either.

Apparently it is too much to ask that a charge of $1.99, although a small amount, be looked into. I am not working at this time and am on Short Term Disability. So, for me, unfortunately, $1.99 could buy something at the grocery store.

How would the folks at Apple know this? This is a reasonable response to this issue. It is not beyond reason that someone used one of your devices/cmputers to buy something while you were signed in. It may not have happened, but it is not unreasonable to investigate the possibility.

Apparently it is too much to ask for you to do a little research to see if someone in your household made the purchases.

You should have plenty of time to find out if they were ordered from someone you know.

" So, for me, unfortunately, $1.99 could buy something at the grocery store."

They have not refused to refund, they have simply asked you to do some basic investigation from your end.

Can you imagine how much money it would add up to, if they just refunded $1.99 for every single person who disputed?

I understand this is a basic question and I answered it for them. I had plenty of time, I investigated, which wasn't difficult and provided the requested information! No one that I know used my iTunes to purchase anything.

They have not responded to my answers that I provided, either.

Yes I can understand if they refunded $1.99 for everyone.

thank you all for you input.
