My iPod Nano 4gen doesn't show up in iTunes..

Hi!

I just found my (seriously long lost) iPod nano from 2009. I haven't seen it since 2010, and so the music is quite outdated. I'd like to update it to the music that I currently listen to the most but I've got a problem. Whenever I connect my iPod to my pc it doesn't show up in iTunes!

The iPod wasn't set up to this computer, but I no longer have the old computer, nor do I remember the apple ID so I can't deauthorize whatever(which is what a friend told me to do..).

Is there anything else I can do?

I have tried deleting iTunes off of my computer and then reinstalling but there wa was no difference.

I also know for sure that it's not the cable, as my mum's iphone connects perfectly with this exact cable!
