Macbook Pro Screen goes black when weight is put on left side next to trackpad??

My macbook pro works great except for the screen blacking out randomly.. At first I couldn't figure out the culprit, but now it seems to black out every time any weight is put on the left side of it next to the trackpad.. If I put my phone there, it blacks out, my hand, etc. It is very strange.. Anyone know what the culprit could be? Took it to the genius bar before I figured out the "trigger" for it and they had it a week and couldn't find anything because they couldn't induce the blacking out.
