Jan 28, 2014 8:17 PM in response to turingtest2by MikeDPhilly,I too had this iTunes update problem and followed the recommended uninstall/reinstall procedures. The iTunes app is working again and I did not lose any media files; however, the playlists I had created are gone. Is there a way to restore my playlists by syncing from my iPOD to my PC?
Thanks!

Jan 29, 2014 3:17 AM in response to MikeDPhillyby turingtest2,See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.
Unfortunately it seems this particular update didn't make any changes to the database structure, so didn't create an automatic backup of the .itl file. You may find the most recent one goes back to September. You might find my scripts ImportDevicePlaylists and SyncStats useful.

Jan 29, 2014 4:05 AM in response to turingtest2by Tippy444,Thanks ever so much turingtest2 :-)
I'm not very techie when it comes to uninstalling & reinstalling programs but your instructions were very easy to follow. I wasn't sure about the Administrator bit but it appears to have worked & iTunes is back!
Thanks again :-)

Jan 29, 2014 8:13 AM in response to JaniceBarclayby yamrider2003,It's good to know some people at least have resolved the problem - I eventually managed to uninstall everything including apple mobile support as recommended by turingtest2 and reinstall ITunes but the same problem remains - I no longer have access to iTunes on my PC.

Jan 29, 2014 11:05 AM in response to RealChewbaccaby recsq,I've been dealing with this same issue for two days tried several different approaches will try some of the fixes listed here. Thanks "TT2" however I even went as far as to restored my PC back about 10 days and it's still screwed. This realy ****** me of I had a similar issue with automatic updates from HP and I shut those off I don't think I'll do any more auto updates after (if) I get this resolved. For the record I even went as far as to activate my Administrator account and attemp to reinstall and it failed miserably I'm not ver optomistic about getting this fixed.

Jan 29, 2014 12:44 PM in response to turingtest2by hannafromphoenix,Thank you. I have deleted and downloaded so many times I was about to give up. I had other advice on what to uniinstall but not in the detail and order you provided. It worked the first time and all is well now. If I could buy a pint I would. Thank you again.
