Jan 29, 2014 2:17 PM in response to turingtest2by AppleCrust,Thanks tt2 !!! You're the BEST..
I followed your instructions and in the end all is good again. Only glitch I encountered was Apple Mobile Device Support would not uninstall for me through the Remove Programs window. I clicked uninstall 4 times and it would start to uninstall and then back itself up.
To get it out of the system I removed it through C:\Program Files (x86)/Common Files route. Worked like a charm.
Thanks again!!!!! :-)

Jan 29, 2014 6:52 PM in response to RealChewbaccaby gbrbizl,Hi Guys,
I just thought I share way quicker solution (may or may not work for some but for me solved MSVCR80.dll issue).
- click START
- in Search field that appears just above START type in cmd (it should find cmd.exe)
- right click on found cmd.exe and choose Run As Administrator (it will start command prompt in elevated mode)
- type in sfc /scannow and confirm with ENTER (it runs system files check and repair, needs few minutes)
- allow scan to finish and try to run iTunes installation again
No reboot needed - worked straight away.
