I'm tryinng to download a video from my old panasonic camcorder through a FireWire 800/400 9- pin to 4-pin cable.

My MacBook Pro does not recognize the camcorder.

It is not possible to download it that way? Do I nees an special software? The camera is to old?

I can download it with a pc so why I can not do it with my Mac?

I'm not an expert in computers!!!

Tks for your help.

What software are you using? iMovie?

fwiw - the 9 pin to 4 pin cables have been very problematic. Lots of reports in the Final Cut Pro / Final Cut Express forums of cameras not being recognized when connected via 9 pin cables or 6 pin to 9 pin adapters.

No real advice here other than try another cable if you can or capture using the PC.
