No. Think about it.
To do what you want you'd have to key in your AppleID details (name, password etc) on that device. If the owner of the device does not mind he/she can give you their device while you enter your AppleID details. That way the owner need not know those details unless they were looking over your shoulder of course.
HTH?

Jan 24, 2014 9:38 AM in response to mpk1998by Kilgore-Trout,★HelpfulIf they are using your Send & Receive adresses, yes. (Settings App > Messages > Send & Receive). But this also suggests your AppleID is on that device as well.

Jan 24, 2014 9:47 AM in response to Kilgore-Troutby mpk1998,Ok, so I went into my send & receive and the only addresses in there are my phone number and my icloud address & email address. If they were allowed on the iPad, the address associated with it would also be on there correct?

Check the settings on the iPad to see if any of the Send & Receive addresses you are using are on it.

That's OK and if you don't know, you don't know! Better to ask than to have never asked at all.
Hope This Helps.
There are others you may see on this and other forums. Such as IMO = In My Opinion; IIRC = If I Recall Correctly etc
