I recently purchaised a Belkin N600 DB Wireless N+ Router and, after configuring it in OS X Mavericks, my internet connection became very unstable: fast --> slow --> very slow; fast --> slow --> very slow; fast --> slow --> very slow; etc... If I connect my ADSL modem directly to the iMac, the connection becomes stable. Did anyone have the same problem? What can I do to correct this issue?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Find out if Belkin has a firmware update.

If not, return the router. There are far many too routers that work better. Always check if the router's firmware has been tested with the operating system in question.

Note, just because something say it is 10.7.x and up compatible does not mean it is 10.9.1 compatible.

10.7.x and up means 10.7, and 10.7.1. You can' t infer anything else.

Hi, a brody,

The firmware is up-to-date, but I've read it still doesn't support Mavericks...

Well, I had a crazy idea: I have Windows 7 virtualized in my iMac (parallels Desktop) - if I go to Ms operating system and try to configure the router there, is there any chance the Belkin device starts to work properly (Windows 7 is supported)?

Thank you!
