iMessages and Do Not Disturb is disturbing me!

I am using iMessages on my mac as well as my phone and iPad. I have "Do Not Disturb" set to not show messages when phone is turned off. Why are these messages still popping up on my phone? Some don't and some do. I have yet to be able to figure it out. Isnt the whole point of it to not keep getting the same message chiming at you on your phone while you are chatting on your computer but yet still having the full conversationd being stored on your phone as well?

There is not a setting in Do Not Disturb not to show messages when the phone is turned off. Besides, if the phone is turned off, you would not receive messages, and Do Not Disturb would not matter.

With Do Not Disturb on, you will just not hear messages or phone calls when it is active. They would still be received on the device, you just do not see them. If the message is generating a tone on the phone, then you must have a setting wrong on Do Not Disturb. Do have have it set for Always, or Only When Phone is Locked? Do you have Manual ON, or Scheduled set to ON, with the time sometime between the schedule you set?

My phone sits next to me while working but I communicate with imessages on my Mac all day. I dont feel the need to have to silence phone calls along with everything else coming in to my phone just to silence my imessages.

Wow I find that crazy you can't do so. It just seems like a given that you would be able to do that with the obvious non-stop popups and noises you get from your phone when carrying on that conversation on your mac.

Thanks for your help though.
