How Can I Get A Good Sound From GB with A Guitar?

I am trying to get a good sound from Garageband with my acoustic guitar. I have a 13'' MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) and I am using iRig for this process. But I'm having some problems with iRig because I usually get feedbacks or a dizzy sound. In some videos I have seen on YouTube tells me that I can't use iRig with a Mid 2012 MacBook because I need two ports ( A headphone port and a built- in microphoneport) according to them. There's one pot in Mid 2012 MacBook Pros. So what I must do? Should I try something like usb port cable that connects to a guitar ( And I have to buy those because I don' t have them). I am waiting for your solutions.
