I'm trying to restore my iphone as new. It has the latest ios but itunes is still trying to download ios 7.0.4 which will take hours. Is there anything that I can do?

How was the device updated to the current iOS, if it was done OTA then a restore via iTunes will require the download of the latest iOS ipa files.
