iPhone 5s Screen Rotating Stopped Working

Hi

My Screen rotating stopped working today, I have kept my phone on the car dashbord today was wondering if the heat could have done any damage to the Hardware component that is responsible for the rotating. I have tried Locking and unlocking the screen rotate but the result is the same.

The other functions in the phone works as used to.

Could this be just a software issue?
