I've just purchased a 2T external hard drive and it comes with multiple cords for various kinds of connections, including FW800 and eSATA. I know nothing about the latter but understand that it's the fastest connector and so I'd like to try using it.

Problem is, I can't find information anywhere on whether or not my MacPro has eSata capabiity and, if so, what speed it is (I read that in order to work properly, the two connected devices must run at the same speed.

I'm not a very technical person and just need some straight answers. Just can't seem to find those online ... especially since the MacPro has changed so drastically and I have the old model (2010).

Anyone?
