Are only 9 people having this problem? I just downloaded and installed the brand-new version of iTunes 11 and it won't open - same error popup shown in Tom's screenshot above. (Windows 8 desktop computer)

What should we do, uninstall and reinstall the previous version? Does anyone know of a fix?

I am having the same problem, with the same error:itunes error.jpg

When I press OK, I get this message:

    itunes error2.jpg

    • I have tried copying the QTCF.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support, as suggested on another forum.
    • I have tried copying the libxml2.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support, as suggested on another forum.
    • I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, then rebooted.

I am running Windows 8, and this problem started when I upgraded to the newest version of iTunes.

I continued to search the forums and came across this one:

I want to give credit to naminegalgbigglesfor solving this one for me.  Here is the solution that he posted:

    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from

    c:\Program Files (x86) \Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

    and paste into

    c:\Program Files (x86) \ iTunes

I believe that I recall having problems with this dll each time I have upgraded iTunes, so I'll be sure to check this particular one next time too.
