can you help? I have just purchased a bose soundlink air, and although i can get the desktop to play through i cannot get any sound from the ipad or iphone to it.
do i need another product to make this work? i thought it was just connect to my wifi network and then hey presto, done.

The Soundlink uses BlueTooth, not wifi.
You connect your phone to it the same way you connect your Mac to it
Settings > BlueTooth and select the Soundlink.

there is no bluetooth connection on this, on the desktop by the music player of itunes there is an air play icon which lets me decide which speakers to use, i choose sound dock and it works but the airplay icon is not on my ipad or iphone, it looks as though it should be next to the play button.
Thank you for your help, i looked at one of the Bose videos on YouTube and pressed an icon for AirPlay on the playback button and then the soundock stared to work wirelessly. I dont know why but I am very happy now.
