Jan 25, 2014 12:22 PM in response to s3cookmacby BDAqua,Hello,
No 10.5 upgrade should be needed to install, number of times used to install is not a worry unless Server edition.
Did they send you a Gray upgtade Disc, or the colorful Retail Disc?
With the 10.6 Install Disc inserted & holding alt or option key at bootup, does that show as a boot choice?

I tried the Option button things but I am not sure if I did it right, but it didnt work or at least nothing different happened then normal. Jan 25, 2014 2:34 PM in response to s3cookmacby Neville Hillyer,I am not sure why they sent you a grey DVD.
I would attempt a clean install by using the correct Snow Leopard DVD to erase your hard disk before installing and then not importing anything during the install process.
Contact the Apple office where you bought your DVD if it does not work.
This issue should be on the Snow Leopard forum and not here.

Jan 25, 2014 2:44 PM in response to s3cookmacby BDAqua,If you have another Mac with Firewire & a FW cable, put the Install Disc in the other Mac, boot the Other Mac into Target mode...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
Boot this Mac with the Option key held down, see if the Install Disc in the other Mac shows up as a boot choice.
