Mar 3, 2014 11:44 AM in response to Kahssby Rortyfan,Thanks. This works for me. I moved the plugin files a few days ago and all seems OK without them. (the latest iTunes update did put them back with the usual efffects on CUP use, so I had to move them again). Wat do these plugins do anyway?

Apr 1, 2014 5:06 PM in response to JBrehm01by grsmvg,Issue was already kind of fixed since 5.1 update (medialibraryservice from 1.2 gig to 300 mb and pages also around 300 mb). But since 5.2 it's even better! Medialibraryservice disappeared ant pages / numbers are only 70mb each!

Apr 1, 2014 8:28 PM in response to grsmvgby edzHelp,@grsmvg, as I mentined earlier in this thread, 10.9.2 and 5.1 seemed to stabilize things for me. And, I will agree that initially, the apps have a small footprint with this latest update.
That said, have you tried editing a document in any iWorks app and selecting the Media icon from the toolbar? Seems that Apple doesn't launch MediaLibraryService at app launch or even when opening/editing a document; instead the service now appears when you select the Media icon.
And, along with the Service, the memory usage issue is back - talking pre-10.9.2 and 5.1 changes. MediaLibray Service loaded and started ballooning in memory use; beach ball cursor in Pages, and then Pages starting ballooning in memory use. Eventually, Pages jumped to the top of memory usage and stopped responding. A few minutes later, Pages dropped back down to about 360MB, the service at 450MB.
Ouch!
Can you or someone else confirm?

Apr 2, 2014 1:11 AM in response to edzHelpby grsmvg,Hmmmpf. I have to confirm that the issue is still there when clicking on the media icon. I have to wait 2 minutes before I can see any photos show up in that dropdown. Medialibraryservice process is started and stabilizes at 300 MB. Pages just keeps being 80mb.
Maybe Apple built it this way because people with new Macbooks and fancy SSD's don't experience these kind of waiting times?
