Is there a Mac version of TurboTax?
MacBook Pro with Retina display
Did you not think of searching via Google or another search engine? It took me 15 seconds to search by typing "TurboTax Mac" into Google!
And the answer is yes, you can download a version of TurboTax for Mac🙂.
H&R Block tax software comes with both Windows and Mac. Check the box at the stroe for TurboTax.
Yes.
And there are Web versions that will work with Mac, PC, Android, iPad, iPhone.
scroll down to "Which Turbo Tax version is right for me" to select which version (based on complexity of your tax situation) then you can decide Web, Mac, PC, etc.
N.B. The simplest version will not work for you if you have substantial capital gains or unusual deductions or rental properties, for example.
I did Google it but some of the reviews were somewhat negative. Some people said the software was erractic. I am a new Mac user and did not want to create problems with my new MacBook Pro.
My HR Block software works without issue, and has for many years.
I have no financial ties with HR Block, but can say my 2011 MBP on SnowLeopard has no issues.
Ah, so your question was not "is there a Mac version?" but "is the Mac version any good?". Regret I cannot comment as I have not used this particular software.
Yes, there is. I've used it for several years and it works great. You can even download a mac version from their website.
I tried to download Premier, maybe Deluxe will work, but my processor is 32 bits not 64 so will it work?
Thank you.
Please elaborate:
What Mac? What Mac OS X?
What makes you say it will not work?
Macbook Pro 1,1 Intel Core Duo 32 bit OSX 10.6.8 Apparently I have to have 64 bits for Turbo to work. I have used it for years. Intel said the 2014 does not allow for 32 bits. What happens to everything on my present Mac if I am able to go to 64 bits? Again, thank you for taking the time to help me understand.
It does appear that your processor is too old to use the Mac-native version:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz
Your MacBook Pro 1,1 has only a Core Duo, not Core 2 Duo.
But you could use the online version ( in a Browser) if you do not mind operating that way. Some users have Privacy concerns and will simply NOT use online tools for this.

If you move to a more modern Mac, most stuff keeps on running. If you only changed processor to one that could run 10.6.8 in 64-bit mode, essentially NOTHING would change except that memory-intensive Applications would run faster.
Tools dependent on PowerPC native code are not supported after 10.6.8. The top six of these in my opinion are:
Microsoft Office 2004, including Word.
Eudora 6
FileMaker Pro 6
AppleWorks
Adobe Creative Suite 2, including PhotoShop
Quicken 2007** but a US$15 upgrade is available that seems to work fine with a few changes.

So, you knew the answer BEFORE you posted the question. Regardless, there are many tax software preparation applications available, and some of them are free. Google is your friend.
Carl...you are two weeks late or more with your reply. I have already filed and received my federal refund this week using TurboTax for Mac.
I really didn't appreciate your sarcastic remark about knowing the answer BEFORE I posted the question. Believe me I would not have wasted your time or your other so called Apple experts colleagues if I knew the answer. I have been a PC user for over 30 years. This is my first experience using a Mac. And yes I know Google is my friend.
Thank you for taking the time to answer. I will take my Macbook pro to Apple and see about getting the 64 bit processor and keep the operating system since I do use the programs that you mentioned. Hopefully I will not lose anything in the transfer. I usually use the Turbo Deluxe, but I might try the web site as you mentioned and see what happens. I really do appreciate your sharing your knowledge and time and helping me to learn a little bit more about my computer. Mary
