iTunes 11 and manually syncing.

I just updated iTunes to 11 and now I can no longer drag and drop music onto my iPod 4th gen. to manually sync. Additionally, my device doesn't even show up on my iTunes library and it is pluggeed into my laptop via USB. Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to fix this?
