MainStage 3 backing track stops when I change patches.

Pulling my hair out here. Just watched the MacProVideo tutorials. All patches are in the same set. As soon as I switch patches, the backing track stops. Any ideas?

MainStage, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

If Playback is inside a Patch, it is supposed to stop. Only one patch is active at any given time. A backing track for several patches has to go into the Set or even at the Concert level.
