iPhone screen cracked on its own

I just wanted to post this in hopes of recieving opinions of those with knowledge of the topic or those who have had similar experiences.

This morning when I woke up my iPhone 5c had a single crack, horizontally, and in a straight line... It was in the exact place I left it, I live by myself so theres no possible way this happened from an impact. I did some googling and found that there are a few similar situations around the web similar to mine. I called Apple and the support agent told me that if I took it to the Apple store I would have to pay out of pocket to fix it. I just got the phone less than a month ago.... Will Apple really not help me with this unless I pay $250 out of pocket? I also found from searching on the web that this could be an issue with the phones battery or some other hardware problem. Do you guys really think that they won't help me out with this? The crack did not come from anything I did, so why wouldn't it be covered by the warranty?

NO! Yesterday in Honolulu a homeless guy set fire to the T-mobile Tower - all of bishop street was down - This morning my phone was sitting on my desk and an employees phone was sitting on another desk. Both phone simultaneously made the most bazaar tweeting noises and her's went black and was unable to turn it back on until she went to the store and they stuck some pin in it to get it back on and she still has to go to her original carrier tomorrow, and my screen cracked ON IT'S OWN! This is obviously some sort of Signal pitch - surge - or problem with the internal functions. Im not buying that the phone jumped off my desk on it's own fell on the floor while I was sleeping and got back on the desk only to crack today from a tiny crack my eye could not see - or I tapped on a sweet spot BS or any other sort of it is my fault crap excuse an inexperienced sales person can come up with to make me responsible. I will be visiting the store tomorrow - Trust me - it will get fixed at their expense!!

How is my opinion on whether they will at all useful? My opinion on the matter is completely irrelevant as it will not affect what they do.

Howvever, if you really want my opinion, here it is. I don't believe that the glass broke by itself. There was some impact, perhaps you were unaware of it at the time and the crack was very small. Eventually the whole screen cracked. I've had this happen with a watch. I don't believe that the damage is covered under warranty and don't think there is any reason they have to do anything other than offer you an out-of-warranty replacement unit.

lol come on.. If you don't understand why I asked for opinions you must be pretty out of touch. I wasn't asking your opinion for any kind of absolute knowledge or to know the exact outcome of the situation. I simply wanted to know what to expect or have some kind of idea of what to expect when I walked it. But it's all good, I went today and guess what? They gave me a new phone and told me it WAS covered under my warranty. I'll clicked solved now, thanks for trying to help.
