Q: I have latest version of Numbers (3.1) but when I try to open a Numbers sp. sheet it says I need a newer version.

Numbers sp sheet is shared. Both user systems on same rev of Numbers.

I have latest version of Numbers (3.1) but when I try to open a Numbers sp. sheet it says I need a newer version. There is no newer version available.

The files get info box says to open it with Numbers 3.1 (default).  Other user has no problem opening the file.

What to do next?

OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I have Numbers 3.5.2 (2118), I believe it is the current version, and I cannot open Numbers files. I see that this is an ongoing problem with Numbers. I have tried many of the recommended solutions to no avail. Exceptions would be where the file is relocated and then opened, i.e., copied and pasted to my desktop, or emailed, then opened. I guess this is better then not being able to open it at all, but not the process that was intended. Is there any way to open these files from finder, as should be?
