iPhone doesn't detect headphones until reboot.

Hi,

My iphone has had this issue since I first purchased it over a year ago. The annoyance has reached a point that I am know reaching out to ask for help. The problem is that when I plug headphones into the iPhone, it will not detect them until I reboot the iphone. I have cleaned the jack out with no success, it seems to be a hardware/software issue... The headphones work just fine after I reboot the iphone, however if I unplug them then the iphone will not detect them until I reboot the iphone again... Has anyone else run into this issue? It would be nice if there was some manual way of turning the headphone jack on and off...
