I cannot get my new Ipod Nano to sync in Itunes. I don't even have the option when I plug it in, however, it keeps recognizing my other IPOD. I have googled several items and says to view/hide sidebar. I don't even have a side bar. HELP?

I cannot get my new IPOD Nano to sync to Itunes. I don't have the option to SYNC. However, it keeps recognizing my other IPOD. I have googled several articles and they all say hide/view sidebar. I don't even have a sidebar.....HELP?
