Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I would love to get rid of all the cosmetic graphics and animations that appear when you open a folder or column. They have been slowing my poor old laptop down so much that I feel furious with Apple every time I see one. And I'm afraid to "upgrade" to Mavericks for fear the "enhancements" will be even worse.
Can anyone advise me on this?

Can't tell you at the moment what tab to look under, but there are various check boxes to turn desktop animations off.
More specific now that I'm on my Mac instead of an iPad.
Open OnyX and click on the Parameters heading. Click on each of the first three tabs and turn off the check boxes where I've marked them in a red box. That will get rid of pretty much any animation. Windows will simply snap open and closed.
Is is possible to remove the graphics and animations from OS X?
