Can't erase Iphone from iCloud!

I tried to erase my Iphone in iCloud.It shows my phone as offline and it says "Erase requested at (date and time)". What does that mean? Does it mean the request got to the phone itself? Or only that the request was sent to Apple and "aproved"? Please help!

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.4

If your device is online, the remote erase begins. A confirmation email is sent to your Apple ID email address.
If your device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online.

An iOS device is offline if it’s turned off or not connected to a data network, such as EDGE, 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi.
