My cd is stuck in the imac and won't eject, it makes a sound like it's ejecting and disappears from the desktop but does not come out.
iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

I had the same problem and somehow after clicking for a while, manage to find Disk Utility under applications. Click on that app and you should be able to see your stuck CD's name etc on your writer, right click on that and you will have the option to eject volume. Hope this helps 🙂
I had same problem with mini CD was stuck in drive but what i did is upto you to do but in my case i manege to eject it.
put other cd half way as handle like tool to pull out..
its upto you decide what you have to do...
If you are using more recent systems, like the Yosemite system, or anything from 2015. The best way to get your CD to eject if you don't have an icon for your CD showing up on the desktop (or anywhere for that matter) and you don't have an eject button above your delete button (which I don't), then you are going to want to go to Disk Utility (which you can search for in your Finder) and then select the CD and select Eject above.
