7th Generation iPod Nano will not connect to iTunes after iTunes 11.1.4.62 update

I updated iTunes to the 11.1.4.62 version last night. Now, when I connect my iPod Nano 7th gen device, iTunes gives me a message stating that an iPod has been connected but could not be indentifed properly, try reconnecting, unistall then reinstall iTunes, blah blah. Tried all that and none of it works. iPod worked fine on this computer on iTunes until this update. Windows 8.1 system.

Same problem here as well. Already ran through the troubleshooting options...nothing helped.

I am running windows 8.1 64 bit and iTunes 11.1.4.62.

One thing I noticed was that my ipod connects very briefly and is shown as drive H: (device even says eject before disconnecting) but then disappears/disconnects on its own as the iTunes error window pops up. Has to be an issue with the latest update. Nothing else has changed on my pc other than updating iTunes.

Hi,

I have a 4th gen Ipod nano that just stopped synching with itunes just after installing an itunes update this past week. The computer detects the ipod before I open itunes but once itunes opens the ipod "disconnects" and it rejected by itunes...I tried de-installing and re-installing itunes, and followed all steps on the apple website for troubleshooting but still got nothing working...I also have windows 8.1

I hope Apple assesses this and finds a fix if need be. As it stands, I'm disappointed with Apple because I've been wasting my time to no avail.

I am having the same problems! My daughter's ipod shuffle works fine, but my (I think I have a 6 gen nano, small square touch screen) refuses to be acknowledged by itunes. VERY frustrating! I am not very tech smart, but I have attempted all the 'fixes' that apple offers and cannot figure it out 😟 Also running the windows 8.1 system.

How would I uninstall and reinstall all the Apple software?
